“I never knew my mother. I grew up with my grandma. She said I was “born out of a bamboo”. My classmates used to make fun of me because of it when I was younger. Why was it funny, I don’t know. My mother had to work but my grandmother said she’d be back soon. I waited for her, everyday. Once my grandma came to pick me up at school. She said my mother was back. But she was in a coffin. She died from a contagious disease and they didn’t even let me see her. When I got there, her body was already cremated.”
